The Business Planning Technician plays an important role within the Housing and Strategic Planning Department provide technical support and advice on business planning and budget management matters across a number of service areas.
About the role
This is a part-time (0.6 FTE) technical post providing support to budget managers to ensure budget and income targets are appropriately monitored and managed, external funding is claimed and spent in a timely manner, fees invoices, orders and payments are processed, and all necessary inputs are made into the corporate finance systems. The ideal candidate will have experience of providing technical support in budget management and business planning including capital and revenue accounting as well as being able to communicate clearly, collate, analyse and interpret data, formulate, monitor and control budgets, use information technology effectively and prioritise their workload appropriately.

Candidate profile
A minimum of two GCE A levels (Grades A – C) or equivalent level 3 qualification. An accounting qualification (AAT/ACCA) to level 4 would be desirable but not essential. Experience of providing technical support in budget management and business planning including capital and revenue accounting.
