We are looking for a Brokerage Business Support Officer to provide comprehensive administrative support within our Brokerage & Commisioning team with in Adult social care service. Your work will help brokers coordinate care arrangements, maintain accurate records and respond promptly to residents, carers and providers.
About the role
Working closely with the Brokerage Manager, Senior Brokers and wider team, you will:
- Monitor team inboxes, record referrals and track outstanding actions.
- Contact care homes and other providers to follow up availability, assessments, bed enquiries and admission arrangements.
- Create and update authorised care package records and Care Package Line Items on Council systems.
- Support provider invoice checks, attendance returns and payment queries.
- Provide administrative support for direct and controlled payments, including gathering documents and maintaining reconciliation trackers.
- Produce routine reports, arrange meetings, take minutes and maintain clear audit trails.
You will manage routine tasks within agreed procedures and escalate urgent requests, discrepancies and delays to the appropriate colleague.
About you
You will bring experience of providing administrative support in a busy service, strong organisational skills and close attention to detail. You should be comfortable checking numerical information, maintaining confidential records and using Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel.
Clear communication and a respectful, responsive approach are essential. You will work with residents, carers, providers and colleagues, adapting your communication to their needs and following enquiries through to completion.
Experience in adult social care, brokerage or a related service would be helpful, as would familiarity with Liquidlogic, Controcc or similar systems. Relevant training will support you in learning the team’s systems and procedures.
