  • About The Role

  • The Councils Building Control team deliver the statutory Building Control functions as well as dealing with the majority of the building regulations applications in the borough. The Building Control sector has experienced significant change following the Grenfell Enquiry and the introduction of the Building Safety Act. Bexley is well placed to meet these challenges with an ambitious service improvement plan which has ensured the successful registration of its building inspectors and continuing investment in staff and processes to further enhance professional standards and customer service.

In connection with this, the team requires two registered building inspectors to undertake restricted functions and restricted activities as appropriate to the level of their competency as well as other building control related activities as required. The Council will also offer the necessary supervision for activities outside current competency levels to ensure continuing professional development. You will help cultivate good working relationships with key internal and many external partners as well as offering excellent customer service.

Please refer to the Job Description attached for more information.

The market premium level will be assessed through the recruitment process.

For an informal discussion about the role please contact Tom Towler, Building Control Manager, 0203 045 4211 , [email protected]
